A flash report of the incidence was shared by Learned Senior Advocate, Charles Adeyemi Candide-Johnson, SAN, in a short message -
"My father, boss and mentor the great JB Majiyagbe, SAN, has passed away this morning. May God receive his kind soul."
JB Majiyagbe, SAN, became the first lawyer practising in northern Nigeria to be elevated to the rank of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in 1980. After settling in Kano in the 1970s, he became a doyen of the legal profession in the state. He also rose through the ranks in the Rotary Club to become the President, Rotary International.
Jonathan Babatunde Majiyagbe, SAN, OFR, is the Principal of JB Majiyagbe & Co, a law firm with offices in Kano and Abuja.
Amongst other great strides, he was the first and only African to have been appointed worldwide President of Rotary International (2003-2004).
