1.0 FACTS/EVIDENCE (APPLICANT)

1.1 The Originating Application in this matter was dated 26th day of February, 2021 and filed at the Registry of this Committee on the 10th day of March, 2021.

We praise her courage for owning up to her shortcomings and leading this Committee to doing justice. We find her complicit in allowing herself to be used to scuttle the execution of a Court judgment.

6.8 On the whole, we find both the 1st and 2nd Respondent liable for professional misconduct and we so hold.

DIRECTION

We, the members of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC), hereby find the Respondents, IDRIS K. THANY with enrolment number SCN056259 and KHADIJAH ABOLANLE THANY with enrolment number SCN079509, liable for infamous conduct in a professional manner contrary to.

We are satisfied that the proper order to make is to DIRECT that the 1st Respondent, IDRIS K. THANY, ESQ. be and is hereby suspended from the Roll of Legal Practitioners for a period of TWO YEARS from the date of this DIRECTION. The 2nd Respondent, KHADIJAH ABOLANLE THANY, ESQ., is ADMONISHED to be of good conduct.

The Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court is hereby DIRECTED to effect the above Order and to make a notation of this DIRECTION against the name of the 1st Respondent IDRIS K. THANY, ESQ. on the Roll of Legal Practitioners. This ORDER shall forthwith be brought to the attention of the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court.
